This webinar discussed the pivotal factors that can pave the way for an inclusive and balanced transition to electric vehicle adoption. The webinar explored the intersection of gender, inclusivity and E-mobility while discussing strategies to overcome gender disparities and how to ensure accessibility for all.

About the Speaker

Heather Allen is an independent consultant with over two decades of global expertise in gender, urban transportation and sustainable development. Her career includes roles at International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and as Programme Director for Sustainable Transport with the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory.

Her extensive background includes working as an international gender and transport expert for World Bank, ADB, UN Women and UKAid among others. Currently she is collaborating with UNEP to collect data on electric vehicle projects that incorporate gender and inclusivity elements, with the aim of establishing foundation for pilot projects.

The Asian Development Bank launched the E-Mobility Support and Investment Platform for Asia and the Pacific, with the support by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and other partners, for bringing together practitioners and to support the scale-up of e-mobility in the region. The platform aims to become a centre of knowledge for supporting a just transition towards net-zero pathways.
